Why do my glasses leave dents on my nose?

Glasses leave dents on your nose because of the constant pressure of the nose pads. The weight of your glasses, together with the fact that the skin on the nose is delicate, will lead to inevitable indentation.

What can we do to stop marks and dents on the nose from wearing glasses?

Here are the suggestions that you will see or hear when you pose this problem to the world:

It’s the nose pads

Nose pad adjustment is a regular answer. If you have dents on the nose from wearing glasses, it must be that the nose pads are in the wrong place or they’re at the wrong angle. The nose pads can be repositioned to get a more accurate fit on the nose but none of these changes will reduce the weight of the glasses on the nose.

It’s the nose bridge

Not all glasses have nose pads. Many glasses have a basic bridge which sits on the nose. They rest on the nose where they touch. This is usually on the top of the nose. It’s difficult to see what adjustments can be made to the nose-bridge of a plastic pair of glasses. Some claim that changes can be made by heating the bridge with a hair-dryer and then performing a manipulation that will lead to a better fit.

The same applies here as with any changes that can be achieved with nose pads. You twist it, bend it and shape it however you like, the weight is

still going to be on the nose.

Change to a new pair of glasses that don’t leave a dent on the nose

Someone has actually suggested this. If there was such a thing as glasses that don’t leave a mark on your nose out there, we would have heard about it and the question of why do my glasses leave dents in my nose, would never be mentioned.

Massage your nose

Gently massaging the dented area on each side of your nose may help to repair the damage. We have to call it damage because that is what it is. Massaging would require some form of lubrication. Use moisturising cream or petroleum jelly on the affected area.

Wash your nose

It can only help if you wash the dented area regularly to keep away any grit or dust particles that like to get in between the nose pads and the skin of your nose.

Take your glasses off now and again

This is another suggestion that isn’t going to work for those of us who need to wear glasses all the time. The best we can do is to leave our glasses off when we sleep at night. Glasses leave dents on the nose throughout the day. The night is never long enough for the damage of dents to be repaired.

Use soft nose pads

The standard offering for nose pads are those made from silicone rubber. As materials go, this is probably the softest that’s available for the application. There isn’t much that can be improved on this type of nose pad.

Are nose marks from glasses permanent?

The irritating truth here is that glasses leave dents on the nose if you have to wear glasses all the time and they will become permanent. You can make adjustments that may have some positive effects but you will be left with the problem that gravity causes.

Glasses wearers have always had to put up with the inconvenience of having to use the nose as a glasses-prop ever since glasses were invented, until now.

Take a look at the Specs-Delight

Why do my glasses leave dents on my nose?

The Specs-Delight will hold your glasses off your nose and, if it’s a problem for you, it will hold them off your ears as well.

The Specs-Delight is designed by someone who has had enough of eyeglass marks and dents on the nose. It will gently clasp the back of the head in a manner that will provide a secure holder that will support your glasses off your nose and ears.

Fitted correctly, with the right level of tension, you will barely feel that you’re wearing it. It doesn’t need to be tight-fitting to provide the support that’s needed to hold your glasses off your nose and ears.

You can then experience the bliss of wearing glasses without them touching your nose and ears.

It’s when something is taken away that we appreciate it most

You may also notice that, having worn the Specs-Delight for a few hours and then wearing glasses without it, you will notice the difference. It’s when something is taken away that we miss it most.

Have you had enough of your glasses resting heavily on your nose all-day-long, leaving eyeglass marks or dents? Do you want to get out of the habit of having to push your glasses back up your nose when they slip? Well, here’s your chance to change things for the better. Find out more about the Specs-Delight and see what it will do for you.

Change the way that you wear glasses

The Specs-Delight is a game-changer. It will stop your glasses from hurting your nose due to constant glasses-wearing. This doesn’t mean that you need to wear the Specs-Delight all the time. Just wear it to hold your glasses off your nose for those long daytime sessions when you’re looking at a computer screen or doing something at work where it doesn’t matter so much how it looks.

The Specs-Delight will give your nose a long rest. It can be left off for social gatherings and events where you may not want it to be seen. Then, when you go back to work, you can start wearing it again and experience the bliss of good vision without your glasses resting on your nose.

Experience the bliss of

wearing glasses off your nose.
