Do glasses cause a dorsal hump?

It’s unlikely that wearing glasses will cause a dorsal hump. Constant wearing of heavy glasses may cause some deformity to the skin of the nose. A dorsal hump is usually prevalent on a person before ever wearing glasses. This is because dorsal humps are to do with the shape of the bone of the nose.

So, if you don’t have a dorsal hump and you’re worried about the possibility of a dorsal hump forming because of wearing glasses, it’s safe to say that a dorsal hump won’t appear. Wearing glasses, however much of a load on your nose they may be, won’t be enough to change the bone structure of your nose.

Do glasses cause a dorsal hump? No!

However there are traumas that constant glasses-wearing can cause to your nose which you can do something about. The biggest and, possibly, only problem with wearing glasses is the constant pressure of the nose pads or nose-bridge of the glasses on your nose.

It’s usually very easy to identify people who wear glasses regularly because of the marks that the nose pads or nose-bridges leave. This is something that regular glasses wearers have to live with, until now.

Protect your nose from glasses

However there is a way to stop glasses from touching your nose when you wear them. Ever since glasses were first developed it’s been taken for granted that they have to constantly rest on your nose. This is no longer the case. It is now possible to wear your glasses without them touching your nose.

There are a number of contraptions available that can help you to keep your glasses off your nose but none of them are as effective as the Specs-Delight.
